How Euchre works
Two teams of two compete to reach the target score. Each player is dealt five cards by default, then players decide whether to order up the turned card as trump or pass.
If everyone passes, the turned card is rejected and players may call a different trump suit.
The Jack of the trump suit is the Right Bower, the highest card in the game. The Jack of the same color is the Left Bower, the second-highest trump.
The team that calls trump becomes the makers. The makers must win at least three tricks. Win all five for a march, or Go Alone and win all five for an even bigger score. If the makers fail to take three tricks, they are euchred and the defenders score.

Scoring
• Makers win 3 or 4 tricks: 1 point
• Makers win all 5 tricks: 2 points
• Go Alone and win all 5 tricks: 4 points
• Makers take fewer than 3 tricks: defenders score 2 points
